Another Portrait
I know I haven’t been updating recently; after I posted the backgrounds for the animated short I’m working on I got bombarded with offers for commissions and freelance work. Between that and the fact that the last two weeks of October tend to be extremely busy for me socially due not only to my birthday but also Halloween I haven’t had much time for blogging, although recently I have wondered if my posts should be meatier and more descriptive and if I should be posting more wips and such…
Anyway, here is a picture I drew for someone yesterday.
Mandy and Animals
I drew these for my sister for her birthday. She’s a vet tech so she spends all of her time around animals… The animals in these drawings are caricatures of ones that belong either to her or people in our family.

Backgrounds for my Next Short
As pretty much everyone that I’ve talked to in the last few weeks knows I am in the process of creating another episode of Dial A for Adventure (with completely re-designed characters, superior [and far less rushed] art direction, etc.). Here are pretty much all of the backgrounds from this short (except for the most ambient ones), plus a few dramatic close-ups. I have my brother, Jared, assisting me on animation but I illustrated these backgrounds on my own.
We intend on releasing the episode by the end of September.

New Website Layout
The newest version of my site is finally up and running! I hope you all like it.
My only regret is that my portfolio pages (especially the 3D one) isn’t showing my best work due to NDAs and other restrictions. However that will all be rectified soon enough… I’ve got a lot of surprises ahead for the rest of the year, that’s for sure.
Dial A for Adventure Update
I am nearly finished with the character re-designs for Dial A for Adventure and will be cross-posting stuff both here and the Team Ratpope blog up until the release of our first “real” short.
The overall look of my website is also going to change a fair bit soon.
